Stand up openings

roughjokesomething-special

So one of my favorite parts about stand-up specials is the opening.

Which always seems to be like some sort of interesting reflection about the comedian and what they think they’re about to do or a flex that they want to like sort of just you know profoundly introduced to you or or maybe even they just wanna make you laugh before they make you laugh

Which I think is kind of a very egotistical.

Just getting very greedy with last.

Here’s here’s an example of what I mean brown punches it is special. He had his moment with Ric Flair kind of motivated him while he was like incredibly high getting ready for a special.

And Sam Merrill has this bit where he’s essentially doing a lot of eye contact with this incredibly old lady at Barney Green grass

And they leave together I guess I’m applying that he’s gonna have sex with an old lady and that is the man who is going to tell you jokes

And that sort of guide me thinking about like what I want to give you as a reflection For my special and I think it’s actually this I think it’s actually just gonna be me talking about other people specials that’s what I’m gonna do before my special. I’m just gonna talk to tell you about my favorite special to say turn off the special and then I can go watch the dice man comes who wants a little actually make you laugh.
