christmas making it about Jesus birthday
I volunteered this Christmas at skid row on 5th & San Pedro.
I was having a great time until this priest gave me a cute little card saying god loves me along with some other stuff about Christianity. "Really? On Christmas? You're gonna make it about god & Christianity?"

I hate it when people make Christmas about Christianity
"Today is the day we remember that god loves you. Jesus. amen" — way to shoehorn Jesus in there Mr. Catholic priest
Do you think Jesus would be pissed if he found out that we're not actually celebrating his birthday? That instead, we invented a fictional Saint Nicholas, this guy who is definitely NOT Jesus, and made the holiday all about him. Not only did we snub Jesus on his birthday; we retconned the whole thing based on someone who isn't even him.
It's got his name but I haven't heard anyone in this room say "happy birthday Jesus" once
"But saying 'merry Christmas' is the same thing" — if you said "merry April 5" instead of "happy birthday David," I'd be upset
